Saturday, we took the kiddos to the Easter egg hunt at our church. Grandma and Grandpa Barber are in town and came with us. Jillian is a pro now at hunting eggs, and she had a blast jumping in the bounce house and sitting on the Easter bunny's lap. Her friend Yazzy from school came, and the girls had a good time playing together. Jake slept through his egg hunt, but once he woke up, he enjoyed taking in all the activity. He also liked sitting with the Easter bunny.
Before the egg hunts, the church had a little program in the gymnasium. When we got there, Jillian was buzzing all around, excited both by the prospect of the egg hunt (which she had gotten a taste of the day before at school) and by the fact that grandma and grandpa were there with her. But then she spotted her friends Evie and Aria, and it was all over for us. She ran to see them, and then refused to come back and sit with us. I knew that at some point, she'd decide that we weren't cool enough and she'd want to be with her friends, but I had no idea she would start doing that at only two years old!
She also went through two wardrobe changes, which you'll notice. She began the day in her flowered dress, but then decided to wear the yellow one. That was a sign of things to come - we went through FOUR dresses during Easter weekend. Good thing Cindy stocked up on spring dresses for her!
