More Christmas Fun!

After the first round of presents were opened, it was time to start playing with the new toys. Rick put together the new playhouse first thing. I know the kids are going to get a lot of fun out of this house. Its big enough for both of them to play in together, and its tall enough for them to stand up in. I can't wait to see what kind of fun they have in this house. For now, its in the living room, but its permanent home is going to be in the playroom.
(The house wasn't fully put together in these pictures - it does have a floor that goes in it.)

After she finished playing in the playhouse, Jillian decided to put on her shoes, crown, and jewelry to play dress up. Turns out that the couch is not a very sturdy place to wear high heel shoes!
Next, Jillian asked if she could play with Jake's tool belt. Rick got it out of its box (a small feat in itself!) and showed her how everything worked, and strapped the tool belt on. And that was the end of any hope that Jake had of ever getting to play with HIS toy! Jillian has definitely decided that she likes tools. Here, she was getting ready to measure and fix the wall. And I can't count the number of times she has fixed something in her new house, or measured my arm, or nose, or head! Seems like, to her, everything is "4 itches!"

And while Jillian played with the tools, Jake played with ...... Jillian's jewelry and purse! Silly boy!

Later, Rick decided to set up the easel. After he put the middle tray in, he turned around for about two seconds to call Jillian, and when he turned back around, this is what he found:
We decided to let the kids change into old clothes and paint, and they had a blast!

Then the kids went to take their naps. After their naps, it was time for round two of presents. Jillian read through this entire Olivia book from Grandma and Grandpa Bob before she moved on to the next gift! This girl loves books!

Jake also got new books!

Is this towel for Jillian, or for Daddy?
Both Jake and Jillian liked the shiny wrapping paper that Aunt Wendy and Uncle Gary used. Jillian especially appreciated the pink and purple shiny ribbon on hers. A house for all her new ponies! I'm pretty sure that this house was built with one pony in mind, but Jillian can squeeze about six of them in!

Again, thank you to all of our family for all of the fun toys, books, games, and clothes that you sent to our kids. We had a great Christmas morning, and the kids are having a blast playing with all of their new things. We are blessed.
