The 2nd Friendliest Yarn Store in the Universe

Is located in Salina, Kansas. Yes, my friends, the second friendliest. Not sure where THE friendliest yarn store is located, but the store in Salinas has a huge billboard on the interstate advertising its second place status. YARNS, I think it was called.

We took the kids to Colorado over the last few days, and on our way home, we drove through Kansas, and then south through Oklahoma. On the way there, we went up through Amarillo, through a sliver of New Mexico, and then up through Colorado. We saw a whole lot of nothing on the drive. Its amazing, actually, how much 'nothing' there was to see. Miles and miles and miles of just nothing. Flat land. The crops changed. Or what will be crops soon. Some areas had more rolling hills than others. But other than a tiny town scattered here and there, the landscape was mostly just empty. When you are surrounded by so much empty land, its hard to imagine how we are overpopulating this land. I mean, here in Dallas, and in every big city in the country, people live practically on top of each other. But out there, even in the 'towns,' there was tons of land between houses. We should really all just spread out a bit.

I'll write more about our trip later, but for now I'll just note that on the way home, my darling, dear husband refused to stop at both the World's Largest Prairie Dog and the Wizard of Oz museum! And he called it a ROAD TRIP!!!

  1. Does he not know how dear the Wizard of Oz is to you, and he still would not stop. The nerve of him. Did you stop anywhere cool and unique?
