A few weeks ago, Jillian's school had a sign-up sheet for the preschool assessments. It was meant for the three year olds who were getting ready to go into the four year old classroom. The assessment was free, and there weren't a ton of kids on the sign up sheet, so I asked the school director if Jillian could sign up. I just wanted to see how she'd do.
She had her assessment last week, and the lady who did the assessment (Yvette) was amazed that Jillian is only 2! Jillian was able to correctly identify all of her letters (upper and lower case) and all of her numbers. Miss Yvette had a basket of foam numbers and letters and would pull them out in random order, mixing up the numbers and letters. Jillian got all of them correct, and could identify what they went with (Like, J is for Jillian, H is for house, Y is for Yasmine, E is for egg, etc). She even knew some of their sounds. Miss Yvette was extremely impressed with Jillian's vocabulary and conversation skills, and she told us that Jillian tested at a level higher than most three year olds! She's such a smart girl! (And this is MY blog, so I'm gonna brag on my girl...).
