Birds eat what?

On the way home from school yesterday, Rick was stopped at a red light, and Jillian saw a bird. He was standing in a patch of grass, and Jillian said, "Look daddy! Look at that bird - he's eating some grass!" Rick said, "no baby, he's not eating grass, he's eating bugs!" Jillian thought for a second and said, "daddy, that's disgusting!"

When they got home, Rick was telling me this story, while Jillian listened. When he finished, Jillian looked up at me and said, "mommy, do birds eat bugs?" She was verifying Rick's information! I told her that birds do eat bugs, and she said, "ew, thats GWOSS! Nasty! Birds eat bugs. But I don't eat bugs, because that's gwoss!"
