This is what being a kid is all about...

Playing in the driveway with the neighbor kids! Jillian and Jake have spent the last few nights, and all afternoon today playing with the neighbor kids. Every time we see them outside, Jillian asks if she can go play with her friends. Its so cute. I love watching the driveway fill up with kids as they just entertain themselves and play together. It makes me so happy!In the house next to us, there's Sophie and Timmy, who are five and seven. And next to them, is Olivia, Evelyn, and Theresa, who are 7, 6, and 4. Even though all the kids are older than Jillian and Jake, they all like playing together, and for the most part, they all play very well together.

Today, we broke out the new Water Caterpillar. The neighbor kids started coming over to ask about it while Jillian and Jake were still napping, so they were SUPER excited when the kids woke up and they could all finally play!

The water in the caterpillar was really cold since it came right from the hose, but by the time it ran down the hot driveway, it warmed up a bunch. These silly kids spent a ton of time just laying on their bellies in the water. Eventually, it all pooled in a big puddle at the end of the driveway, and they just splashed and played and layed in that puddle for about an hour!

Jillian and Jake both took breaks from the puddle splashing to come back and play with the caterpillar once in awhile...

Then they got out the bucket and the watering can, and filled 'em up so they could water the grass.

The kids are having such a great time. I love that they can spend so much time outside, and its extra nice that there are so many kids right next door. There are two little girls a few streets over who are the same age as Jillian, and we've been meaning to get together to play with them, too. Its nice for them to have friends so close - it makes it so much easier for them to get together - I don't have to arrange playdates!
