Easter Festivities

We spent Easter weekend in Lake Placid this year. It was so nice to be able to just go home for a holiday. Living here in Florida is so nice! Anyway, Aunt Cathy had lots of things planned for the kids. We got to Lake Placid on Friday afternoon, and stopped off at Grandma's office for a quick hello. Then we met Aunt Cathy at her house, and we hung out for a little bit before heading over to Grandma and Grandpa Bob's house for a spaghetti dinner. We spent the night at Aunt Cathy's house on Friday night, and on Saturday we got up and went shopping for Easter shoes for the kiddos. Then we met Grandpa Mat and Grandma Cindy at the lake to swim and ride their Polaris (pictures of that later....).

Saturday night, we went back to Aunt Cathy's house, and Grandma and Grandpa Bob came over for pizza. Aunt Cathy made a bunny cake for Morgan and Jillian to decorate, but, it turned out that Jake was more interested in the cake decorating. When Aunt Cathy set the plate of jelly beans in front of Jake, he thought they were for him to eat. He shoved about 8 of them in his mouth at once! When I told him to put them on the cake and not in his mouth, he started to take one out of his mouth to put on the cake! No worries, though - I stopped him. He only put clean ones on the cake after that!
Jillian played with Morgan's old Barbie dolls while Morgan and Jake decorated the bunny cake.
On Sunday, when the kids woke up, Jillian spotted her Easter basked right away. She said, "is that my Easter bunny basket from the Easter bunny?" She was so excited! So we sat right down and they opened their baskets.
Jake had a car in his basket, and after he opened up the car, he wasn't interested in anything else. He just drove that car all over the house!

After we opened the Easter baskets, we went to church with Aunt Cathy, Uncle Don, and Morgan. Grandma Bob and Grandpa Bob, and Grandpa Mat and Grandma Cindy came to church too. Aunt Cathy and Grandma Bob picked out the material for Morgan and Jillian's dresses, and had them made by Uncle Don's mom. They turned out so cute!

After church, we all went home and got changed, and then met up again at Highlands Hammock for lunch. It was packed - we got the last table! Luckily for us, the people in the covered pavillion next to us had to leave early, so they let us move into their spot! It was so much nicer having the shade!

Jillian and Jake pulled these coolers all over the place!
Going on a walk with Grandpa Mat.
Jillian was in charge of passing out the cake. She went around and asked everyone what kind they wanted (chocolate or vanilla) and then she took them their piece after it was cut. She loved having this job!

Every once in a while, she got to swipe a piece of candy from the cake!

Jake pushed this stroller all the way into the woods! Silly boy!
