Spanish

We went to the park the other day, and there weren't really any kids for Jillian to play with. She was pretty upset about it, until we saw a little girl coming over. She had an older brother, maybe 7 or 8 years old, and she was maybe 4 or 5. When they first got to the playground, the two played basketball together, and Jillian waited "patiently" for them to finish and come play on the playground. Eventually they did, and Jillian took off after the little girl, shouting, "stop, stop, wait for me, stop!" The little girl didn't stop - she kept running. Jillian kept shouting, "hi, stop! Stop! Stop!" The little girl was just ignoring her, being kind of mean. Finally, Jillian said, "stop! Parar!" (Parar means "to stop" in Spanish!) I thought it was hilarious that she started yelling in Spanish because the little girl wasn't listening to her in English!

And later in the day, she was running past Jake, and said "hi Jake." Jake said "hi" back to her, and Jillian said to me, "mommy, Jake just said, 'hi.' In English!"
