Duh!

On Labor Day, we took the kids to Rock Springs for a picnic and to swim in the river. We'd been talking about it for a few days, and Jillian knew that the place was called Rock Springs - she kept asking, "when are we going to Rock Springs?" Rock Springs has a river you can float down, and its pretty short - maybe a 20 minute float. It's shallow - you can walk the whole way, and there are areas where even the kids could walk. At the top of the river where you put your tube in (or in our case, little rafts for the kids, nothing for us), it is very rocky. And they kind of sneak up on you. There are huge rocks that could do damage when you ran into it, and little rocks on the bottom of the river that you're just stepping on the whole time. This wouldn't be a problem if you were in a tube, but if you're walking and pushing a raft (Jillian called it a water board, and she kept telling us she wanted to go water boarding!), it hurts your feet. I knew that about halfway down the river, the river cleared up. But I hadn't been at the top of the river before, so I asked Rick, "hey, hon, when do the rocks go away?" And Jillian turned around (I was pushing her water board) and looked at me and said, "mom, its called ROCK SPRINGS. There are gonna be rocks!" Uh, okay then.
