Trick or Treat!

On Halloween, we took a little witch and a horse trick or treating. Jillian had been asking us all week if we could go trick or treating, so she was very excited.

Here's her witch costume. It had an apron thing that went underneath and had lights in it. She'll be able to put the apron on underneath other princess costumes later.
Getting ready to go. Jillian had on her long sleeved black shirt, black tights, and yoga pants to wear in the car, because she couldn't fit in her carseat with the whole costume on. Here she is practicing with the witch hat. I was surprised that she kept the hat on all evening long.

We went to dinner at Applebees while we waited for it to get dark. Once it finally did, we set out to our friends Josh and Leah's neighborhood to trick or treat. Jillian couldn't wait to get started!

Our little horse! We called him a cow pony, because his horse costume looked an awful lot like a cow. He's so cute!

Trick or treat!

Jake really liked these Mr. Potato....err..Pumpkin Head pumpkins. We had to practically drag him away from them!

This isn't the greatest picture, but you could really see how much Jillian's skirt lit up. There were four or five lights in the skirt, and once they were turned on, they gradually changed color. Jillian also had on two or three glow in the dark bracelets (in purple and orange) and our friend Leah gave each kid a light up pumpkin necklace. With all those lights, Jillian could definitely be seen coming!

Getting some treats! After we left each house, Jillian would say, "can we go to another house?"

We were expecting Jillian to be shy when it came to actually saying "trick or treat." But she surprised us. She walked up to each door, and smiled at the people when they opened the door. She'd say "trick or treat" and then hold out her little bag. It was so cute.

She always wanted to ring the doorbell or knock on the door herself, because she's a "big girl, momma!"

I made Jillian stop in front of these flowers for a picture, but she didn't want to be bothered to slow down! I got her to do it, but she was more interested in her light-up pumpkin necklace.

The Wilson kids go trick or treating! This was the only picture I got of them together all night. They were both having too much fun to sit down and take a picture together - they wanted to get up and keep moving!

Getting a head start on her brother...

Wait! Wait for me!

Here I come!

Looking at her loot!

Jillian and Jake both had so much fun! Jillian talked about it all day Sunday, she wanted to go do it all over again!
