Ichetucknee Springs

Last weekend, we met up with family at Ichetucknee Springs in north Florida. Aunt Cathy planned the whole trip, and we had a good turn-out. Grandma Bob and Grandpa Bob, Grandpa Mat and Grandma Cindy, Aunt Cathy, Uncle Don, and Morgan; Aunt Mary, and Gigi and Papa all came. Our rooms at the hotel were all right in a row, so we were able to kind of roam from room to room, which was fun.

We got there on Friday afternoon, and once everyone arrived, we went to dinner. Well, everyone except Grandpa Mat and Grandma Cindy. They got to town much later, so they missed out on dinner. After dinner we went to check out the pool, and Jake, Jillie, and Aunt Mary decided to take a dip. In their clothes! But they had fun, and the pool was warm, so it was okay.

Saturday morning we got up early to head to the springs. We rented our tubes and boats on the way. Rick and I had decided we were getting a boat, because we thought it would be easier with the kids, and boy, are we glad we did get the boat. Everyone else got tubes, and I think everyone else was wishing they had a boat. (Well, Cindy had a boat too - and she looked pretty comfy!)Grandpa Mat being silly with their boat.

Um, I don't think this is going to work. Luckily, the guy with the rope came over and helped tie all these tubes down.

I didn't take my camera on the river, because I didn't want to lose it or get it wet, so no pictures of that. But afterwards, we had a picnic. Everyone brought food to share, and it was nice to just relax and hang out with family. We're so blessed to have such a great family, where everyone really enjoys spending time together.

When we got back to the hotel, we went out to dinner and then the kids and I decided to get back in the pool. Thankfully, Uncle Don, Morgan, Grandpa Mat, and Grandma Cindy came with us. I put Jake in this raft, thinking he wouldn't like being reclined in it, but he LOVED it. Just kicked back and relaxed, and giggled while we pulled and pushed him around the pool in his little tube.

Jillian was not such a fan of relaxing in the tube. She wanted to be up and running around and jumping in and just being busy.
