Jillian Gets Her Ears Pierced!

About two weeks ago, Jillian started asking about getting her ears pierced.  I think one of the kids in her summer camp just got her ears pierced, which sparked Jillian's interest.  We talked about it some, and then talked to Daddy about it, and then Mommy and Daddy talked about it, and finally, we decided that Jillian was old enough, and that getting her ears pierced would mark the beginning of Jillian growing up and starting kindergarten.  We wanted to do it enough before school started that she wouldn't still be constantly messing them when school started. 

As much as we were talking about it, we convinced Lisa, our neighbor and Jillian's best bud, to get her ears pierced too. So off we went!

First, the clerk used a pen to draw dots on Jillian's ears to make sure that the holes would be in the same place on each ear.  Jillian was nervous, but she was a trooper.

 Then, two girls did the actual piercing at the same time, so that there would only be one moment of the pinch.  Jillian barely flinched, and after it was over, she looked at us like, "that's it?"

Two big girls with their ears pierced!  Jake even came to support the girls in their big day.  Both girls were so proud of themselves, and excited to start picking out new earrings.  (They were a bit disapointed that they can't wear different earrings for several weeks!)
