Mason Smoak Foundation 5K Run and Family Fun Day

On October 8, my friend Laura and I loaded up the kids (Jillian and Jake, and Laura's daughter Lisa) and headed to Lake Placid so that Laura and I could run in the Mason G. Smoak Foundation 5K run. It was our second 5K, and we were both excited that our kids would get to be there when we finished. Plus, after the race, the kids could enjoy the Family Fun Day activities. After the race, Laura and I went back to the hotel to change clothes. The kids stayed with Grandma Bob and Aunt Cathy, and had all kinds of fun. They got to hang out with some cool clowns, get their faces painted, and play all kinds of games. They had a blast!

Jake wanted a SHARK painting on his face - how cute is that??

Lisa got a flower.

And sassy-pants Jillian got a butterfly.

Here's Jake, waiting in the extremely long line to jump on the trampolines. (Seriously...each kid got to jump for about 7-8 minutes, which is great, when your kid is jumping. But not so great when your kid is waiting in line to jump!)

The kids all loved these trampolines! It was the best part of the day for all of them.

After the trampoline, we were ready to leave. On our way out, each kid got to pot a plant to tak home.

Laura told me later that Lisa said she "loves Lake Placid!" She asked Laura if Jillian ever moved back to Lake Placid, if she could move too. It is a pretty great town, with some pretty great people!
