Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head
At the beginning of the month, we went on a little vacation to Savannah, Charleston, and Hilton Head. Rick's cousin was getting married just outside of Savannah, and we decided to turn that trip to the wedding into a little get-away. The wedding was beautiful, at a huge southern "farm." We stayed outside of Savannah the first night, but didn't really get a chance to do anything there. We're going to have to go back. Then we were off to Charleston. We basically just drove around while we were there. The whole drive to Charleston, the kids were wide awake, but as soon as we got there, they both fell asleep, and we didn't want to wake them up. So we drove around for a bit, and then headed to Hilton Head (in hindsight, we should have just skipped Charleston). We got checked into our hotel and headed right down to the beach.
The weather was beautiful - it was cool and breezy the whole time we were there. The water was still pretty chilly, though!
We spent a lot of our time swimming in the pool. For some reason, both kids preferred the pool to the beach on this visit. The pool area had a kiddie pool with a waterfall thing, and we spent a lot of time there, but Jillian had a blast jumping to Rick in the big pool and "swimming" her way around the edge of the pool.
Jake was not quite so thrilled with the pool as Jillian, because the water was freezing! He gets cold pretty easily in the water, so he wasn't loving it. He tried hard though, and didn't complain, even when he started shivering and his lips were turning blue.
